Red Oak

Austin, TX

The main residence incorporates curved glass walls throughout the home – adding a softness against the orthogonal floating roof planes, and endless views and connectivity to the outdoors. The structure’s ‘butterfly’ roof above the main living space mimics the movement of the water that encircles the property.

Connected via a common roof plane are three independent guest casitas, designed to host family of multi-generations. Circulation-wise, the linked walkway floats above the water and engages with the surrounding serene landscaping. These structures and the main residence weave around the property’s mature red oak trees and multiple water features.
